Ladies, Get In! Check Out The 8 Signs Your Man Will Never Ever Stop Loving You

You know he loves you; there is no denying that. He has stayed up all hours of the night rocking the baby, finishing work projects and doing household chores you could not complete yourself.
You know your man is a keeper, but the word ‘forever’ still leaves you with doubts. Men can be subtle in their approach at showing love, but there are 8 clear signs that the man who will never stop loving you will show without you even realizing it.
1. He’s fully committed to you and your relationship
This does not mean he is there for only the good times, but he is there through all of the bad as well. He does not run out after a small fight or intentionally tear you apart with his words. You are so important to him and he would never let anything get in the way of that.
2. He does the little things
When you have a busy day ahead of you, he tries to lighten the load by making the bed, cooking breakfast or dropping the kiddos off at school because he knows that is what you want. He may not love taking out the trash or folding the rest of the laundry for you, but he does it without complaint.
3. He wants you to love yourself
He can sense when you think you are having a bad hair day, when you feel fat, or when you feel worthless and will be sure to point out all of the things he loves about you. He thinks you are so beautiful but knows that you need to think so as well. In the end, he will do whatever he can to make you see yourself as the gorgeous girl he will always love.
4. He showers you with love
You want the moon; he’ll give you the moon. He listens to your work stories, makes dinner when you are tired and will occasionally give you a nice massage when you are feeling sore. He treats you like a princess because you know what, you are one!
5. He makes your problems his problems
Seeing you in pain causes him pain. Your frustrations, your worries and your issues keep him up at night. All he wants to do is fix them for you so that you won’t hurt. He hates that there isn’t anything he can do but promises to be by your side no matter what.
6. He doesn’t avoid conflict
If something is bothering him about the relationship he will bring it up in a respectful manner. He does not want to avoid the subject, but wants to clearly elaborate his feelings and let you know that he is doing it out of love. He genuinely wants your relationship to succeed and is willing to work through anything.
7. He laughs with you, not at you
He may be a sensitive fellow, but he will not intentionally make you feel bad for a mistake you have made. You know if you have made a mistake and what it will do to him. He may not shake it off right away, but he will laugh with you and cry with you if that is what you need.
8. He hates hurting you
He may laugh off your mistakes, but he handles his own very differently. When he causes you pain, he will do anything to make it right. Until he truly feels he has fixed it, the pain will weigh heavily on his shoulders.

Recession: N’Assembly to send 8 passed Bills for Buhari’s assets

ABUJA—FOLLOWING the current hardship being experienced in the country, occasioned by the ongoing economic recession, the National Assembly has said a total of eight bills already passed were on hand to be forwarded to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent.
Special Adviser to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, who disclosed this in a statement, yesterday, said the eight passed bills were received from the House of Representatives by the Senate for concurrence and onward presentation to the President.
“The Bills, which are aimed at strengthening the laws of the Federal Republic, were considered and passed in a single sitting of the Senate, demonstrating commitment to employing all legislative mechanisms at its disposal to end the current economic recession in the country, “the statement said.
The statement added:” The Bills that will be presented to the President soon include the Telecommunication and Postal Offences Act (Amendment) Bill, National Crop Varieties, Livestock Breeds (Registration) Act (Amendment) Bill, Produce (Enforcement of Export Standards) Act (Amendment) Bill, Prevention of Crimes Act (Amendment) Bill, Water Resources Act (Amendment) Bill, National Agricultural Land Development Authority Act (Amendment) Bill, Bee (Import Control and Management) Act (Amendment) Bill and Agricultural and Rural Management Training Act (Amendment) Bill.”
The statement emphasised the importance of the Bills in ending Nigeria’s economic contraction and stated that the Bills would be promptly forwarded to President Muhammadu Buhari for his assent.
“By now it is clear that the Senators take Nigeria’ economic situation very seriously. If you recall, one of the points from the 21-point resolution passed by the Senate on the economy stated that it would fast-track all economic related bills. What this Senate has done is match its words with its actions.
“The eight Bills, which are all primarily amendments to existing laws, are aimed at strengthening the enforcement mechanisms in sectors of the economy that can help boost Internally Generated Revenue.
“Important highlights of the Bills include the amendment to the Telecommunication and Postal Offences Act, which is aimed at increasing some of the prescribed penalties, fines and compensations for non-compliance with the Act. This is intended to help boost investment and participation in the telecommunications sector.
“Additionally, the National Crop Varieties, Livestock Breeds (Registration) Act (Amendment) Bill, Produce (Enforcement of Export Standards) Act (Amendment) Bill, National Agricultural Land Development Authority Act (Amendment) Bill, Bee (Import Control and Management) Act (Amendment) Bill, and the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Act (Amendment) Bill are all aimed at bolstering the standards in Nigeria’s Agricultural sector to help the country achieve more economic diversification,” it further stated.
Meanwhile, the Senate President, who is the Chairman of the National Assembly, has stated that the eight bills will be promptly forwarded to the President for assent.
“Moving forward, Nigerians can expect that the legislature will adopt a united and efficient approach to getting Nigeria’s economy back on track.
‘’We will quickly forward these 8 Bills, which have been passed by both Houses of the National Assembly to the President.
‘’This is only a first step and we will continue to work to ensure that at the end of our tenure, Nigerians will see that this is a people-centred National Assembly,’’ he said.

IGP decries ‘alarming rate’ of cybercrime

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has described as alarming the rate of cybercrime in Nigeria.
The IGP also attributed the increasing trend of cybercrime to greed.
He spoke during Interpol Cybercrime Training for Practitioner Investigators from African Countries held in Abuja on Monday.
To curb the increasing trend and outsmart the perpetrators, Idris noted that he has established a Cybercrime Unit within the Interpol National Central Bureau in Nigeria that will tackle the challenges of cybercrime down to local government level.
He also disclosed that efforts are being put in place to equip the unit with the tools and techniques to boost its capacities in fields such as IP crime enquiries, identity fraud, online tracking of suspects, electronic crime scene investigation and the forensic examination of computers, computer networks and mobile devices.
Speaking on the cybercrime and essence of training, the IGP, who was represented by the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation, Hycent Dagala, said “investigating offences in the cyberspace has assumed a major policing requirement in Nigeria and I guess other jurisdictions across Africa.
“Cybercriminals have enjoyed a long start ahead of law enforcement agents and inflicted serious injuries on the citizens we are sworn to protect. While we continue to grapple with traditional methods of policing, emerging trends in crime now deploy new skills and technologies. We must in turn, therefore, develop new ways and methods to adapt to current challenges.”

We’ve not reached promised land yet at 56 – Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has lamented the stunted and impaired development of Nigeria, 56 years after attaining a state nationhood.
Obasanjo said Nigeria is not yet where it ought to be at 56 but expressed the hope that the sundry challenges bogging the country down would be surmounted.
He spoke on Saturday during a lecture organised by the Youth Fellowship of the Owu Baptist Church, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, as part of the church’s activities to mark Nigeria’s Independence anniversary.
The elder stateman said leaders and followers, should “accept responsibility” for the fate of the country and “stop passing the bulk.”
“Our development is impaired, it is not what it ought to be but we must get it right. We must all accept responsibility, we must stop passing the bulk.”
Delivering his lecture on the topic: “Nigeria Development for Nigerians by Nigerians,” he declared that the development of the country must not be left with Nigerians alone but should also include foreign investors and friends of Nigeria.
According to him, those interested in assisting the country in its developmental efforts must also be encouraged to help it.
Obasanjo identified unemployment of educated Nigerians as one of the major factors threatening the peace of the country.
He also identified peace and security, education, food, sanitation, shelter as well as transportation as some of the ingredients for measuring development.
The former Chairman, Board of Trustess of the PDP recalled that when he completed his secondary school education at the Baptist Boys High School (BBHS), Abeokuta, he was offered jobs by five different establishments, including the United Africa Company (UAC) and Moore Plantation, Ibadan but lamented that a different situation prevailed today in Nigeria.
He also recalled during an interractive session how the famous industrialist, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, few years ago, told him that six PHD holders were among applicants who applied to become truck drivers in his company due to the unemployment situation in the country.
“Unemployment is a major problem in the country today and if we don’t take care, it will consume all of us, in fact, the rising unemployment is a time bomb.”
“The high rate of unemployment is responsible for youth restiveness in the country. The situation should be tackled with all the seriousness it deserves before it get out of hand.
“There is no other way we can develop except, engaging in agriculture business, it is the only business that can generate the number of employment we need.
“That is why we have to take it (Agriculture business) as a key of our development else the many educated Nigerians who have no job are like time bomb, sooner than later, it will explode,” Obasanjo said.
Obasanjo challenged the church to pay attention to both the spiritual as well as the physical well being of their congregations.
He noted that the church’s attention appeared to be focused only on the spiritual aspect of the congregations, explaining that he had seen the recession buffetting the country two yeas ago following the recklessness of the immediate past administration regarding the country’s resources.
He said his warnings and advice were largely ignored but concluded, Nigerians “cannot continue lamenting.”

Geri Alimi underpass will decongest chaotic traffic, add aesthetic value

Kwara State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya, has explained the state government’s decision to embark on the construction of Geri-Alimi Diamond Underpass, Ilorin, the state capital, which was flagged off on Tuesday by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Speaking on the need for the Split Diamond Interchange, Yahaya said the project became necessary in view of the growing population of the state capital, resulting in traffic situation within and around Geri-Alimi.

He added that the project will meet the needs of current and future road users in the state.

The Commissioner explained that the influx of people into Kwara, particularly Ilorin, prompted the state government to come up with the idea of the Split Diamond Underpass to ease human and vehicular movement within the metropolis.

He said that as the first contact for the people visiting Ilorin from the southwestern part of the country, traffic at Geri-Alimi usually gets busy especially in the morning and evening thereby causing gridlock for hours.

Yahaya stated that the project, when completed, will not only decongest the chaotic traffic situation along the axis but also add aesthetic value to the area, as it is an engineering and architectural masterpiece.

According to him, a police post, traffic light system and a Close Circuit Television Camera (CCTV) will be provided at the roundabout to ensure 24-hours adequate security in and around the area.

He added that a walkway for pedestrians will also be provided while the road that extends to General Hospital, Ilorin and the airport will also be upgraded.

The Commissioner said that the project, which is in three phases, is expected to be completed in the next 18 months. He disclosed that the state government will unveil more developmental projects in coming weeks.

Yahaya also revealed that the asphalt plant recently acquired by the Kwara government will be commissioned next week, after which the Ministry of Works will embark on massive rehabilitation and reconstruction of major roads across the state.

Edo election: Group rates police low on welfare

A non-governmental organisation, CLEEN Foundation, has expressed dissatisfaction with what it described the inadequate provision of welfare packages for security operatives mobilised for the September 28 governorship election in Edo State.

‎The group made this known on Friday in a preliminary statement on the conduct of security agencies during the poll.

No fewer than 25,000 personnel of the Nigeria Police and 1,900 military officers were de‎ployed across the 18 local government areas in the state to provide adequate security and to ensure a peaceful exercise.

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, had also ‎said the Federal Government had approved funds for the welfare of the affected personnel, which he said would be paid into their personal bank accounts.

But the observer group noted that the fulfilment of the assurances given by the federal government fell short of expectations, as many of the security operatives on election duty looked “pale” and “famished,” and complained of the absence of their feeding allowances.

‎The Senior Programme Officer of the foundation, Mrs. Chigozirim Okoro, noted that while most of the officers complained of having to pay their way to their duty posts, some of them sought financial assistance from passers-by.

Okoro explained, “‎For instance, a military man was seen holding a bottle of water, which he said was the only thing he had all day and which he confirmed was given to him by a passer-by. Most of the officers complained of having to pay their way to their duty posts.

“We observed that many spent the previous nights in open primary schools in and out of town, without feeding allowances. This makes them increasingly vulnerable to compromise and should be addressed urgently.

She, however, commended the conduct of the security personnel at the wards and units during the poll‎, including the rescue of observers from alleged attacks by political thugs in some local government areas, for filming electoral offences.

“Reports from across the areas observed indicated that most security officials on election duty carried out their duties in a very professional and commendable manner. They were alert, impartial, approachable and coordinated,”‎ she added.

Among other recommendations, the group called for the prosecution of electoral offenders and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to resolve all issues concerning the malfunctioning of the card readers during elections.

Giant dinosaur footprint discovered in Mongolia desert

One of the biggest dinosaur footprints ever recorded has been unearthed in the Gobi Desert, researchers said Friday, offering a fresh clue about the giant creatures that roamed the earth millions of years ago.

A joint Mongolian-Japanese expedition found the giant print, which measures 106 centimetres (42 inches) long and 77 centimetres wide.

One of several footprints discovered in the vast Mongolian desert, the huge fossil was discovered last month in a geologic layer formed between 70 million and 90 million years ago, researchers said.

It was naturally cast, as sand flowed into dents that had been left by the creature stomping on the once muddy ground.

The footprint is believed to have belonged to Titanosaur, a long-necked dinosaur, and could have been more than 30 metres long and 20 metres tall, according researchers.

“This is a very rare discovery as it’s a well-preserved fossil footprint that is more than a metre long with imprints of its claws,” said a statement issued by Okayama University of Science.

The Japanese university has been involved in the study with the Mongolian Academy of Science.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has described his team’s hectic fixture list as a “poisoned gift”.

Mourinho’s men are set for a busy run after the international break, with five matches in 13 days.

And the former Chelsea boss, whose team beat Zorya 1-0 in the Europa League on Thursday, has hit out at the schedule, singling out his side’s clash with Liverpool on Monday October 17 for particular scrutiny.

“Well, we could play Liverpool on the Saturday, we could play Liverpool on the Sunday, but we play Liverpool on the Monday [October 17],” Mourinho said.

“So maybe we don’t have the best conditions especially because we play against two top Premier League teams that don’t play in European competitions.
“We have this kind of poisoned gift of playing on the Monday that creates a very difficult situation, but we want to try to qualify for the next round.

“It’s a long time to go, almost a month, but we want to try so we play against Fenerbahce with a team with the possibility to beat Fenerbahce.”

United sit third in Group A after their win, a point behind leaders Fenerbahce and level with Feyenoord.

Mourinho feels there is little he can do about the fixtures, saying: “I think it’s impossible. The poisoned gift is already there.

“So what can we do? We have to just play on Monday and then Thursday and then Stamford Bridge on the Sunday.

“But before that we have Stoke, so let us concentrate on Stoke.”

NAFDAC, SON, others hail La Casera for keeping standards

The National Agency for Food, Drug, Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has commended the La Casera Company Plc for maintaining a high quality standard in the production of Carbonated Soft Drinks (CSD) in Nigeria.
Similarly, the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) praised the beverage company for its full compliance with regulations regarding food and beverage manufacturing processes in the country.
In his keynote speech, the Managing Director of the La Casera Company, Mr. Roland Ebelt, expressed the company’s delight at the factory inspection and noted that the visit would afford the company the opportunity to showcase its upgraded world class production lines.
Ebelt said he was pleased that NAFDAC, MAN and SON executives visited the plant to witness the high premium it places on producing innovative products, maintaining high quality products and its high security measures put in place to protect members of staff.
Also speaking, the Director-General of the NAFDAC,  Mrs. Yetunde Oni expressed great delight at the level of compliance and strict adherence to modern food and beverage production guidelines.

Mrs Oni, who was represented by the Special Assistant, Mr William Effiok, after the tour of La Casera production facility at Mile 2 in Lagos, also laid great emphasis on the firm’s ultra-modern production line which though covering a large expanse, and having several units such as the bottle blowing section, filling, capping and packaging units, operated under very hygienic conditions, and worked under minimal human interference, with a state-of-the-art automation process which can be compared to those operated in other developed nations around the world.
“What we have witnessed today reaffirms La Casera’s commitment to producing a premium Carbonated Soft Drink (CSD) with a product quality which satisfies all quality and safety requirement required for any beverage. Food handling and contact which happens to be a major entry point for contaminants in food processing and production, has also been grossly eliminated in La Casera’ production process, thereby making it safe, nutritious, and fit for human consumption.”
The DG therefore urged teeming consumers to disregard misleading information in any form especially those emanating from Social media, as the product has the NAFDAC seal for quality, which implies it has been subject to thorough product check and analysis, and has been duly certified.
Also responding after the facility tour, the Director, Product Certification, Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Mr Bayo Adigun said: “We appreciate the management team of The La Casera Company for hosting us on this visit and would like to state that this kind of partnership between regulators and manufacturers are aimed at supporting companies in making sure that they maintain their standard. We are partners and we would seek ways to protect the brand of respected companies like The La Casera Company,” he stated.
The Acting DG, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Mr. Segun Ajayi-Kadir, who was also present at the tour, appreciated the management of the La Casera Company for its doggedness even during times such as this when several companies are closing shop due to several economic reasons and in the face of limiting factors to business growth.
He also extolled the company on its visibly huge financial investment in the food and beverage sector, and therefore encouraged them not to relent in its effort.

The nature of examination malpractice among students in Nigeria Tertiary Institution.
“The life of ease is a difficult pursuit”.
Examination malpractice in educational system is not a new thing among we Nigerian and in various institutions of learning. It has become a “canker worm” that has eaten deep down into our education system. It has also become a major challenge to examination bodies, school administrators, parents, the governments, and the private sector (bodies).
It thus tends to relegate certificates issued at different level of education. Over the years novice and experts have complained over the falling standard of education in Nigeria. The falling standard of Nigeria education has been traced to examination malpractices among the student in schools.
Majority of the students being victims of the examination malpractice is as a result of the following factors.
Poor attendance of student in class during lectures: Most students especially in this era believed in only concentrating on C.A and examination and spending most of their hour to chill out and on social media. The case has affected majority of the students and still affecting them till today which they don’t recognize. The implication or outcome of absenting while lecture was taking place, regarding this, students in this category totally rely on hand out or text books in which they not get the main idea of a particular course or field of knowledge but along the alien they end up confusing themselves because of losing some basic things vital during lectures hour.
Poor reading or studying hour: most of the students spend their reading hour chatting on social media or listening to music believing other are born intelligent not knowing that they also build themselves up. And when most of them reading they don’t always concentrating on what they are studying.
Poor conducive atmosphere: in this context, it’s a big challenge for the academicians to manage and guide with large number, this easily create room for multiple examination malpractice i.e they cannot control or organize to a standard setting that will promote sanity.
Emphasis on certificate: students, parents, school management and others tend to push harder on wards to get the certificate and good grades by all means. As a result, much value and emphasis are placed on certificate instead of knowledge, skills and competence. This is also why examination malpractice are increasing day after day for the rush to get paper qualification for jobs they possess or good grades to secure employment.
Lecturers: the lecturer is the main focus of change and the anchor in the lecturing – learning process. Lecturers are the main determinant of quality in the educational system. They therefore, have an important role to the success of any educational system. Indeed, the quality of the lecturer is perhaps the most important determinant of educational standards. Good lecturing makes learning more meaningful, interesting and understating.
Students and their level of knowledge and skill acquisition: the level of knowledge and skill acquisition of students determine their involvement in examination malpractice. More importantly, the feeling of inferiority complex to which any student that fails exam is subjected in school, at home, and in the society at large would make the student go to any length to pass examination.
The examination malpractice can be in different form and this includes:
·       Insult or assault of invigilator.
·       Connive.
·       Mass cheating.
·       Educational stakeholders assistance
·       Irregular activities during and after examination.
·       Inscription on table tops and body.
·       Using electronic materials personality connection.
·       Impersonation and so on.

The Dangerous Effects Of Make-Up Most Ladies Don’t Know

makey
This is great news for some ladies. Read Carefully and Slowly. Dermatologist, Dr Idi Martins, has warned against excessive use of make-up, saying that it exposes the skin to considerable amounts of germs and harmful toxins, Vanguard reports.
Martins told the told newsmen on Friday in Abuja that excessive use of make-up could cause skin irritation, allergies and even skin cancer because of the chemical content. He said that that make-up could have severe adverse effects on the skin and other parts of the body, including the eyes.
“The chemicals found in lipsticks, eye pencils, mascara, kajal, among others, could cause serious health problems.” He advised that women who apply make-up should clean their faces before going to bed, to remove all traces of chemicals from the skin.
“It is very imperative to use suitable face washes, cleansers, toners and scrubs to wash off the make-up on the skin daily, especially at night, to avert any skin irritation or disease,’’ Martins said.
Similarly, Mrs Pamela Adebowale, a beautician and make-up dealer, said that the wrong application of make-up could result in skin irritation. Adebowale, stressed the need for women to know their skin type in order to know the appropriate type of make-up to apply, particularly on the face.
“You have to know your skin type to enable you to know the appropriate make-up to use for the best effect.’’ She said wrong application of make-up, rather than enhance beauty, could mar it.

Oshiomhole Says Assassination Attempt On Deputy Governor Never Happened

Adams-Oshomhole-300x225
Things appear to be falling apart for the Adams Oshiomohle-led government of Edo state, as his Deputy Governor, Pius Odubu, on Saturday, had his convoy shot at during a visit to the All Progressives Congress secretariat in Auchi, headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area.
Odubu, who is campaigning for election as the state governor at the end of Oshiomhole’s tenure, called on security agencies in the state to investigate the shooting, saying that he has identified ‘three principal suspects’ behind the attack.
However, in a swift response to the alleged killing, the state government, through the Commissioner for Information and Orientation Kassim Afegbua, described the assassination attempt as untrue.
While affirming that violence broke out at the Auchi APC secretariat, Afegbua however, noted that the fracas was caused by thugs loyal to the Deputy Governor.
“Our attention has been drawn to newspaper reports and subsequent Press statement by the Odubu Campaign Organisation on the alleged assassination attempt on Dr Pius Odubu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State and a gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC.”
“While we condemn in very strong terms the ugly incident at Auchi, we note, however, that the conclusion of the Odubu Campaign Organisation on alleged assassination attempt appears hasty as preliminary reports suggest that the fracas at Auchi was caused by thugs loyal to the Odubu campaign imported in two truck-loads to Auchi who attacked other party loyalists not sold to the Deputy Governor’s aspiration.”
“It is instructive to note that the Deputy Governor was inside the secretariat building of the APC in the company of the Party Chairman in the Local Government, Alhaji Umoru Akokhia, addressing the delegates while thugs loyal to him who had become unruly fired gunshots at other APC loyalists who were outside protesting against his visit.”
“We gathered authoritatively that the first shots were, in fact, fired by Odubu’s security detail in an attempt to scare away the party faithful who were against the hoodlums imported to their domain by the Odubu Campaign Organisation, before thugs loyal to him fired at the party’s loyalists.”
“It should be noted that among those who sustained injuries are APC loyalists who are presently receiving medical attention in the hospital.
It is laughable that the Odubu Campaign Organisation will allege that the Deputy Governor, with full compliments of security details, was shot at, yet no casualty was recorded on the other side and nobody apprehended.”
“Given the above scenario, we find it lousy for anyone to impute assassination theory as propounded by the Odubu Campaign Organisation, especially when investigations are still ongoing and the police are yet to submit their findings on the fracas.
A responsible campaign organisation should have waited for investigation reports before jumping into reckless conclusions.”
“The Governor has already directed the Commissioner of Police to unravel the immediate and remote causes of the incident and whoever that is found culpable will be made to face the full wrath of the law, no matter how highly placed.
It should be understood that democracy is all about inclusive participation and contestation of ideas, and not rule of the gun.
Every gubernatorial aspirant who truly wants to govern the state must live by the rules of the game and not the size of his guns and political thugs.
Campaigns are generally a very interesting aspect of democracy, hence, it must not be reduced to bloodletting.”

Aero Contractors Airline Sacks 100 Workers

AERO-NL1
Airline operator, Aero Contractors, has sacked at least 100 workers outsourced by Skyborne Ltd, due to its decision to review its relationship with the company.
Confirming the sack in a statement issued on Friday, April 29, the airline said it the decision was reached “in the course of reorganising and repositioning its business”.
“In the course of reorganising and repositioning its business, Aero Contractors has reviewed its relationship with Skyborne by cutting down some of the services required from the company.
“This will help the company to invest more resources to enhance customer service. For the records, Aero has not sacked any of its staff,” the statement released by Aero’s media consultant, Simon Tumba, said.
A letter to one of the affected workers which was obtained by NAN claimed that the sack was as a result of the ongoing restructuring in the airline.
The letter reads: “Dear colleague, in the light of the ongoing restructuring at Aero, we regret to inform you that your services are no longer required and employment with SBL terminated with immediate effect.
“Please, return all company property to your manager/supervisor by 8am on April 28. We regret any inconvenience caused.”
We recall that allegations of corruption and diversion of funds had trailed the past management of the airline.
The Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON), which owns 60 per cent of the airline’s shares, had dissolved the previous management and appointed Fola Akinkuotu, former director-general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), as its Managing Director.
Akinkuotu has been given the task of rebuilding the airline and helping it to regain its position as a key player in the industry.
First Bank had just on Thursday, April 28, revealed that it intends to lay off 1,000 workers.

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the World Bank to do all within its powers to facilitate the speedy repatriation of stolen funds being held by Swiss authorities.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba  Shehu, quoted Buhari as making the call at the State House in Abuja yesterday during a meeting with the visiting Managing Director of the World Bank, Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
The president noted that the repatriation  of the additional $320 million in Switzerland identified as illegally taken from Nigeria under the administration of late former Head of State, Sani Abacha would help to ease the current economic hardship facing the nation.
Buhari assured Indrawati that his administration was taking appropriate steps to ensure that public funds are no longer stolen or misappropriated by government officials.
“We need the support of the World Bank for the repatriation of the funds.
We are as concerned as the World Bank about accountability. If such repatriated funds have been misapplied in the past, I assure you that the same will not happen with us. $320m is a lot of money and we will not allow it to be misappropriated or diverted,”   Buhari said.
According to Shehu, one of the conditions given by the Swiss authorities for the repatriation of the funds is that it should be expended on the implementation of social programmes for the benefit of Nigerians.
Indrawati told Buhari that the World Bank was ready to use its knowledge, expertise and resources to help Nigeria achieve faster growth and development.
